Framed Fabric

Since I have become older and wiser...

I have really captured what it looks like {for me} to embrace my experience, travels, opportunities... and life-adventures.

For example: it is meaningful to me to surround myself with things that speak my personality, loves, interests, family.... things that make me happy.

So, when I was on my recent trip with my kiddo, I picked up a few things in the markets to bring home with me. That speak my personality, loves, interests and FAMILY.

Beautiful things.

Things that make me HAPPY!

One of my most favorite pieces... fabric.

Yes, FABRIC!

I knew right away during this trip that I wanted to pick up some typical fabric to frame for our bedroom. But, I was VERY specific with what I was looking for. The typical fabric that is intricately hand woven by Mayan Indians are typically... VERY... COLORFUL!

Gorgeous! No doubt... GORGEOUS!

But, I have been toning down the color in our master bedroom, lately. I have been going for something a little more serene. So, I was wanting something in just black, white and gray.

It was a VERY challenging hunt.... But, my AWESOME cousin.... Did it!

We found it!

After much time on the hunt! Special conversations... special phone calls... and special trips... It was ours for the taking.... and I brought it home!

Isn't it wonderful?! And look at how well it coordinates with the fabric from the lumbar pillow and the area rug.... LOVIN' IT!

Here is the frame before the fabric.

This was a nice print from Ikea. It was always meant as just a place holder until I found something WONDERFUL to put in it's place.

And, I did!

Something WONDERFUL and MEANINGFUL!

This makes me SO HAPPY!

I would love to hear from you.... what have you surrounded yourself with that makes you happy?

Hopefully, I will be sharing the changes I have made in our master bedroom soon. It definitely feels more serene to me. Until then, have a great Monday, y'all!

  1. Hello - I found your blog via Thrifty Decor Chic and I'm keeping up with you in my Reader!

I like color, I do, but I find I always gravitate back to neutrals. They're low maintenance and chic! You can always put a pop of color with them when you just need that bit of a boost!

    Love your blog title!
